The Volunteer Centre is open Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 9.30 am - 3.00 pm and an answerphone service is available at all times.

This year to celebrate Volunteer's Week the Volunteer Centre is hosting an online "Swap Shop". The aim is to raise the profile of volunteering and promote the idea of a Big Society. It's a term that is thrown around a lot but this idea really means we can help each other.
You can either get involved as an individual or as an organsiation. The online shop is live now, simply click here to fill out a short form of your "Wishes" & "Offers" to get the ball rolling. This is where you can get creative, think outside of the box! You or your organisation can offer resources in exchange for services or simply swap volunteers. For example organisation 1 needs a mini bus for a day (Wish) but is willing to give some fundraising advice (Offer) and organisation 2 can provide the mini bus (Offer) but instead needs help with websites (Wish). This is where the full network can help each other.
The "Swap Shop" will run until Tuesday 7th June, click here to view the lists online to see if there is anything that interests you. Once the shop is closed the Volunteer Centre will co-ordinate the exchanges, happy swapping!
I really hope this proves successful, hopefully it is something we can repeat regularly. In this current climate it is important that we look for more creative ways to achieve our outcomes and maybe this can be a first step.
